The Riverside School District is holding and early Kindergarten Registration for incoming students for the 2019-20 school year. Our 2018-19 Preschool Year is fast approaching! We are so excited to welcome our new students and families! Registration is limited and fills up fast so email or call now to check on availability or be put on our waiting list. Our teachers, Miss Mara and Miss Debbie provide all parents with a weekly guide to activities and concepts, as well as post daily activities in our hallway. We utilize Highscope curriculum, which addresses all areas of development through 8 content areas and 58 developmental indicators, the skills and behaviors at each stage of development which pave the way for school and adult success. While learning in these content areas prepares children for later schooling, HighScope takes the learning process beyond traditional academic subjects by applying methods that promote independence, curiosity, decision making, cooperation, persistence, creativity, and problem solving in young children.
We are not only licensed by Pennsylvania DPW as a child care center; we hold an additional license through the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Division of Private Schools, which ensures that your child receives a quality early childhood education in addition to being provided with a safe, nurturing child care environment. Our preschool teacher is held to a high standard and must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a current Pennsylvania teaching certificate. We offer half day preschool Monday through Friday from 8:30-11:30am in addition to full day child care services year round, which include preschool. We understand that some families would like to send their child to preschool only a couple days per week and we offer that option as well. Your child’s safety is our number one concern!
We have introduced several new safety features at our center recently, including a brand new high definition camera system, a center-wide intercom system, and a new door entry system. Our most exciting new feature is the new touchscreen monitor in our entrance way. Parents and authorized pick-ups are registered with their thumbprints into our software system. They use their thumbprints each day to check their child in and out. They can also view account statements, reminders, and their child’s immunizations. We have also installed new windows throughout our center. Your child’s safety is our number one concern!
